Joseph C. Moffa, CPA, Esq.


Joseph C. Moffa is an Attorney with the Law Offices of Moffa and Gainor, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he concentrates in the areas of federal and state taxation. Mr. Moffa is a frequent lecturer and author on state tax topics for various professional groups and organizations. Mr. Moffa has been actively involved in various professional organizations including: The Florida Bar, The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Greater Ft. Lauderdale Tax Counsel (President 1998), FICPA State Tax Committee (Chairman 1998), and a member of the Executive Council of the Florida Bar Tax Section. (1998)

 

Mr. Moffa received his B.B.A. Degree in accounting (1980) and his M.B.A. Degree (1982) from Florida Atlantic University. He received his J.D. Degree from the University of Miami School of Law (1984). Mr. Moffa is a licensed Florida CPA; and prior to practicing law, worked in the tax departments with national public accounting firms for over 10 years.

 

Mr. Moffa has authored the following articles on state taxation issues for the Florida CPA Today Magazine: Form Over Substance, (September 1994); Drop Shipments, (September 1993); Florida Corporation Income Tax, (August 1990). In addition, Mr. Moffa has authored and lectured on sales tax professional education seminars for such groups as the FICPA, Lorman Education Services, National Business Institute and Professional Education Systems, Inc.
